I saw this Mail Pouch barn and covered bridge in a park in Lanesville, Indiana. The town sits along the Ohio River Scenic Byway. I am not sure if it is an historic barn but it looks as if it has been painted somewhat recently. If it old or not, I still admire it and had to stop and get a pic of the sun shining on a beautiful scene in the southern part of the Hoosier State.
Maybe it’s just me, but I like seeing advertising painted on the side of a barn better than a billboard covered in LED lighting flashing a “Big Sale” on mattresses or some other modern day product. For what it’s worth, I have seen a Mail Pouch barn on my travels through Ohio, Indiana and most recently in Illinois, along with my home state of Michigan. I wonder if I will find one in every state.
